A large new country homestead was designed according to passive solar design principles. The house successfully incorporates geothermal heating, from long runs of pipes buried in 1 metre depth of soil. The architecture has a clear modern expression, with steel framing providing rational modular construction. The high level roof and lower pergola extend past the building to form a sheltered outdoor ‘room’.
